When her husband died and was left without a breadwinner, Mary Ann Bevan decided to enter a contest and won the offensive title of "ugliest woman in the world" and was hired by a circus. She endured the ridicule of others in order to raise her childrens and give them a better life.

Mary Ann Bevan was born December 20, 1874  Plaistow, Newham, London, England.

Mary Ann webster was one of the eighth children in her family in Plaistow, East London. She later became a nurse and married to Thomas Bevan in 1902, with whom she has four children. Her husband Thomas Bevan died suddenly in 1914.

Mary Ann Bevan started experience the symptoms of Acromegaly soon after she was married, at the age of 32. She began suffer from abnormal growth and facial distortion, which lead to "weirdly" appearance, along with fading of eyesight and severe headaches. After the death of her husband she no longer had the income to provide for herself and her four children. Bevan decided to entered an "ugliest woman" contest which won.

She was hired by Sam Gumpertz to appear in coney island's Dreamland sideshow, a form of freak show, where she spent most of her remaining life. She also made appearance for the Ringling brothers circus until her death.

A woman in her 30s wrote to Tell Me Pastor, saying that she's not having anymore sexual feeling.

I am in my early 30s and I became a Christian recently. I used to beat the streets. That is how I survived. I started having sex from I was very young.

Sometimes I had sex four or five times for the night. I was well known on the street. I went for older men. Sometimes I did not have to have intercourse with the older men. They were more interested in having me do oral sex with them.

I had a certain politician who I dealt with and I could look forward to getting $10,000 from him. All he wanted was oral sex. I have even been to his house many times when his wife was away. I have gone right into his office and taken care of his needs there. I knew his wife, but she didn't know me. This man taught me that whenever I was coming to the office, I should dress in suits and heels. So nobody would suspect anything. While I was seeing him, I was living at home, but he helped me to get a nice little place and he was helping me to pay the rent. This man was only giving me $15,000 to help me with my rent, but I was doing drugs. I used to smoke the weed. I also smoked more than two packs of cigarettes every day. But using ganja gave me kicks and I could perform any sexual act.

I became ill and this man paid all my doctor bills. I could not get over ganja use. He encouraged me to go back home, but I didn't. My clients came to see me at the house and my landlord figured out what I was doing. So he gave me notice to leave. Sometimes when I was high, I was having sex but wasn't feeling anything. I did not desire sex; I was only doing it for money.

People told me that I was looking mash down. I had to use heavy make-up and wear dark glasses wherever I went out. I got involved with a guy who used to smoke weed. His girlfriend found out that he was seeing me and she threatened me. He told me he would protect me. I got a visa so I went away. I did not stay long because the friend I stayed with didn't want me to smoke in her house. She got help for me and while I was away, I became a Christian and got married.

I am trying my best to satisfy my husband, but I don't have any sexual feelings. He told me that he cannot deal with me. He believes that I am seeing another man, but I am not. I just don't want to have sex at all. She told the pastor.

Woman got Impregnated by her Cousin

A 20 year-old woman who attending the University got impregnated by her cousin. 

I got pregnant when I was 17, but I lost the baby. I don't regret losing the child because it was one of my cousins who got me pregnant. I did not know better. He always used to tell me how much he loved me and he used to protect me from other guys because we lived in a depressed area, and guys were always fooling around me.

When I was 16 years old I lost my virginity to one of these guys and he wanted to control me, so I told my cousin that I could not deal with this guy. So when I told this guy that I was breaking up with him, he said that couldn't happen. This guy was 19 years old at the time. My cousin told him to back off and everywhere I went my cousin shadowed me.

One evening I went out and my cousin came to meet me. We ended up at his friend's house where we had sex. He did not use a condom. A few days later, I had sex with my cousin again at my parents' home. After I got pregnant, I felt like killing myself. However, thank God something went wrong and I had a miscarriage. My cousin and I stopped having sex, but I love him more than the other guys who have had sex with me. He is caring and helpful, and he encouraged me to go to university. He is now living with his girlfriend and his girlfriend and I are good friends, but she does not know that my cousin and I had sex several times.

I want to move and have a good job when I graduate. I want to move my parents from the ghetto. They are hard working people but they are not rich. They are still living in a board house and it is not a very comfortable place for girls to live. I have a younger sister and I would love for her to have her own room. Whenever I am home, we share room. She told the Jamaica star.
