Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball Z, has passed away at 68 years old

Akira Toriyama was born on April 5, 1955 in Nagoya, japan. His artistic journey began with the creation of the popular manga series  Dr. Slump in the late 1970s.

However, it was “Dragon Ball”  that catapulted Toriyama into global stardom. First serialized in 1984, this martial art inspire Sega introduce us to the young warrior Goku and his quest for mystical Dragon balls. The series blended action, humor, and unforgettable characters, captivating audiences worldwide.

Dragon Ball became one of the best selling manga series ever, and it influence extended far beyond Japan. Toriyama' s distinctive art style, dynamic battles, and imaginative world building resonated with fans across cultures. The anime adaptations further solidified its status as a cultural phenomenon.


The Cause of Akira Toriyama Death

On March 1st, 2024, tragedy truck. Akira Toriyama passed away at the age of 68 due to an acute subdural hematoma. This serious condition occurs when blood accumulates between the skull and the brains surface, often resulting from head injuries.

Toriyama impact extended beyond Dragon Ball. He lent his talent to various one-shot manga runs and left his mark on video game classics like Chrono trigger and  the Dragon Quest series. His return to Dragon Ball in the 2010s, including the film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of gods showcased his enduring influence.

A private funeral service has already been held for Toriyama's family. He leaves behind a rich legacy of manga titles, hard work, and  unique world of creation that continues to be cherished by fans worldwide. May his creative inspired generation to come.
